Kenny Smith

Kenny Smith has maintained a continued high-profile presence on the bluegrass circuit and flatpicking guitar scene since the mid-1990s. He has toured with Claire Lynch, the Lonesome River Band (which also featured well-known banjoist Sammy Shelor), and - since about 2001 - the Kenny and Amanda Smith Band, which won the International Bluegrass Music Association’s (IBMA) Emerging Artist of the Year award in 2003. Kenny won the IBMA’s Guitar Player of the Year award twice (1998 & 99), and his wife Amanda won the IBMA’s Female Vocalist of the Year in 2014. The band has recorded seven CDs to date, including its latest entitled "Unbound."
