Cory Walker received the 2014 IBMA Momentum Award for Instrumentalist of the year. He has shared the stage/studio with countless greats in acoustic music, has opened up the CMA Fan Fest, and played the Grand Ole Opry many times (billed as Cory and Jarrod Walker). Some of the well-known performers and bands he has worked with are Ricky Skaggs, Sierra Hull, Earl Scruggs, Kix Brooks, Jim Lauderdale, Mountain Heart, David Grier and Friends, Ron Block, the Dillards, Adam Steffey, Tony Rice, Sam Bush, Stuart Duncan, Jerry Douglas, and Kenny and Amanda Smith. He has played all over the US, and also appeared in Canada, Western Europe, the Middle East, and Japan. Cory's banjo playing can be heard on numerous CDs - most notably Sierra Hull's "Secrets" and "Daybreak" - and his playing appears on several recordings due for 2017 and 2018 release, including those headlined by David Grier, Jeff Parker, Aaron Ramsey, and Cindy G. His own recording "New Branches," a collaboration with his brother Jarrod, has received extensive airplay. His most recent project is "Section House" (Mountain Fever Records), which also features his friends Aaron Ramsey, Jake Stargel, Bryan Mcdowell, and Jeff Partin.
