Isaac Smith is from Howard City, MI where he was immersed in traditional music from an early age. Isaac has played with Michigan/Ohio based groups including Harbourtown, the Journeymen, Schlitz Creek and many more. He attended East Tennessee State University where he graduated with a degree in Psychology and Bluegrass, Old-Time, and County Music Studies. During that time, Isaac played for 4 years with the group Marty Raybon and Full Circle, formerly of the band Shenandoah. Isaac has experience playing primarily with traditional bluegrass music/vocal groups and has given multiple workshops on both traditional fiddle improvisation and twin fiddling.
